MAGNETIC RESONANCE IMAGING

Class begins in Summer 2008

Registration starts April 14th through May 9th.

Classes begin May 12th!!!

This e-Learning program is an Advanced Technical Certificate curriculum offered to candidates currently certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in the fields of radiography, radiation therapy, or in nuclear medicine technology certified by Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) and to graduate radiography students who are eligible for certification.  Graduate students must pass the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists within four weeks of beginning the certificate program. 

The program provides distance education courses and clinical rotations.  The clinical portion of the program consists of orientation to the clinical aspects of Magnetic Resonance Imaging, demonstration of the use of the equipment, and an opportunity to participate under close supervision in actual MRI procedures.  Following successful completion of the program courses of study and clinical practice, the candidate may be eligible to apply for certification in Magnetic Resonance Imaging offered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.

 To apply for this program of study, students should obtain a program application packet from the Division of Health Sciences containing a current listing of admission and course requirements.

Admission Requirements:

1.   Apply for admission to Gulf Coast Community College.

2    Submit MRI program application form, including technical standards form.

3.  Submit official high school transcript or copy of G.E.D. scores to the Office of Admissions and     Records.

4.   Official college transcripts must have been received and  evaluated by the Office of Admissions    

       and  Records.

5.   Submit a copy of your imaging certification card and current CPR card.
